Our vision: Being the difference.

Our Impact and Future Goals

Established in October 2015, Māia Health Foundation became a registered charity in November of the same year. Since its official launch in May 2016, the foundation has achieved significant milestones and made substantial contributions to various healthcare projects.

Māia takes a fresh, charitable approach to improving the healthcare experience. With the support of our community, we have raised over $12 million, aligning these funds with historical gifts to the Canterbury health system for greater impact.

These funds have been used for major projects, including upgrading the helipad at Waipapa Christchurch Hospital, improving child health facilities, enhancing the Burwood Spinal Unit with a $2 million investment, providing essential equipment to the Christchurch Hospital neo-natal team, and acquiring an ultrasound machine for Kaikōura Health.

In addition to these major projects, we have funded numerous smaller initiatives that have had a significant positive impact on the lives of everyday New Zealanders. You can read about the impact we've made here.

Our current focus is raising $6 million to build a new outpatient facility for Child and Youth Mental Health. The demand for mental health services is at an all-time high, making the need for this facility urgent.

With your support, Māia and our community can make this vision a reality.
