The Canterbury health system is one of the largest in the country – and it needs your help.

There will never be enough public funds to do everything we want in health. It’s time for innovative thinking about health funding.

Māia Health Foundation has been created to take our health service from good to great. Reaching both Te Whatu Ora Health New Zealand Waitaha Canterbury and out into the community, Māia’s work will enhance the health experience of everyday New Zealanders.

New Zealanders are a generous lot, and we all know that it takes a community to make a difference. Māia’s fundraising targets are bold and ambitious – they need to be if together we want to ensure our health system is world-class.

Our current major project is to raise up to $6 million for a modern, fit-for-purpose Child, Adolescent and Family outpatient facility for the Child and Youth Mental Health service.

While on this mission, Māia will also support other projects within the wider health community.

Full selection criteria is currently being developed by our trustees to help Māia select projects for the long-term. Rest assured, we will be aligning ourselves to support projects that will benefit our community for future generations.
