Your gift &
the details —

First and foremost, you need to know we’re accountable. Māia’s trustees have a responsibility to invest any funds prudently and to disperse funds in line with our Trust Deed and our Charities Services registration, no. CC52547.

Māia Health Foundation is an independent trust, endorsed by the Canterbury District Health Board.

Māia Health Foundation is a New Zealand organisation, and all transactions are billed in New Zealand dollars.

Where will
my gift go?

Māia Health Foundation collects gifts for the Canterbury health system, including the Canterbury District Health Board.

Unless specified, your gift will go to the initial major launch projects. Once those targets are achieved, your gifts will contribute to building a long-term endowment for future projects.

If you wish to tag your gift to a specific project that’s fine too. We will make sure your gift gets to where you want it to go.

How do you
invest the
funds?

Māia Health Foundation has a statement of investment policy and objectives, guiding our trustees’ stewardship of funds for the long-term.

For further detail on this policy please contact us. We’re only too happy to talk to you about our plans.

How do you decide which projects to support?

We’ve selected two urgent major projects, based on the areas of most need in the imminent new Christchurch hospital building.

Our future projects will be selected by the trustees based on a set of criteria that is currently in development.
